Max Pankau, arranger of 50 Hymns for Brass Quintet, is a composer and arranger based in Chicago.
His compositions have been performed throughout the United States by many ensembles, including Fifth House Ensemble and Third Coast Percussion, and have been aired on Chicago's 98.7 WFMT.
Max earned a Bachelor's degree in horn performance and a Master's degree in Composition - both from DePaul University. His composition studies were with Christopher Wendell Jones, Seung-Won Oh and Kurt Westerberg. He studied horn with Oto Carillo and Jon Boen.
Prior to university studies, Max played horn in the 76th US Army Band from 2003-2007.
He currently teaches composition and music theory at Harold Washington College.
